What can I say about me and my shows??
They’re probably best described as a mixture of me blethering nonsense about anything and everything that forces its way into my heed (I believe thats called streams of conciousness - well I am awake during it at least) and a mix up of all and sundry from the world of music!!
I particularly love to play new, upcoming Scottish bands along with well established acts and try to get along to catch them live as often as possible.
Bands such as Edinburgh’s Dropkick, Inverness’ Lush Rollers, and Glasgow’s Vivien Scotson are never far from my set and most of the acts I try to push can be found somewhere on our MySpace page.
Local acts such as Kate James, Paul Scott and good old Gavin Sutherland also get a whirl from time to time as well as friends from Canada such as United Steelworkers of Montreal.
I don’t know if its an age thing but Im veering more toward singer/songwriters and alt. country recently (I blame Big Bob for the Country leanings – or rather thank him cos I love it) but I still manage to sneak in some Underworld or Ian Brown when the feeling takes me so Im not completely over the hill yet!! (I hope :-])
Mixed in with all that you’ll find (depending on the time of day I’m on) anything from rock to country and disco to punk. I do try to keep you up to date with what’s happening in the music world as long as my team of researchers can give me sensible and current information (for team of researchers read ‘me’, so its not always altogether sensible……or current for that matter !!)
Any regular listeners to daytime shows with me will know about my love for the UK top 20 chart, Pete Doherty and Simon Cowell. (SARCASM ALERT !!). Of course if you want to hear something from the charts then gimme a shout - I can take my headphones off and at least then you can enjoy it !!
Music is about the only thing that’s successfully kept me sane (no really) over the years and something that we here at Deveron FM all try to guarantee for our listener is a varied and above all enjoyable mix of just about everything that is out there !!
……..and if none of that makes any sense why not just tune in or log on and give it a listen……………its nae sair, honest……you’re sure to find something you like !!
